The OpenAI chatbot ChatGPT uses artificial intelligence and is the most popular app in history.
According to a UBS study (reported on by CBS News), ChatGPT saw an average of 13 million daily visitors in January, which is more than quadruple the number of visitors it saw in December. After barely two months in existence (I know, right? ), the study found that 100 million people use ChatGPT per month.
The study uses analytics firm Similarweb's data to favorably compare ChatGPT to other rapidly expanding apps like TikTok and Instagram. When compared to Instagram, which took 2.5 years to reach 100 million MAUs, TikTok only needed 9 months. http://sentrateknikaprima.com/
"after 20 years of studying the internet space, we cannot recall a faster ramp in a consumer online app," USB's analysts stated in the research.
Earlier today, OpenAI released ChatGPT Plus, a premium version of the chatbot, so this research couldn't be more timely. A monthly subscription for US$20 grants access to ChatGPT outside of peak hours, expedited support, and early access to new features.
Users have been utilizing ChatGPT for everything from creating humorous poetry and college essay cheat sheets to having the bot create malware nearly as soon as it was released. A previous investor in OpenAI, Microsoft, recently invested an additional US$10 billion into the company and is rumored to be working on integrating ChatGPT into several of its services, including Bing. Google took notice of ChatGPT as well, and the search giant is rumored to be working on a number of consumer-facing AI capabilities of its own. https://ejtandemonium.com/
